Last week I was lucky enough to book a week off work meaning with the weekends I had 9 days off which was pure bliss and my week ended up being pretty busy in the end considering I only had a few things planned.
I started my first few days off by spending the weekend up in Swindon where my dad now lives after selling his house and moving in with his partner last year. So was quite nice to go up there and have a nice catch up.
I wasn't really expecting to do much whilst I was up there but we ended up doing a fair bit. On the Friday we went to watch "The Case of Sherlock Holmes" in the air theatre at Lydiard Park which is only 5 minuets walk from they're home. For those who don't know its massive park and estate house which is beautiful.
The show its self was really good it was small cast of 6 people who was telling one of the case story's from Sherlock, was brilliant and we took a picnic because the weather was lovely.
On the Saturday we got up and headed over to the Cotswold's to Chedworth Roman Villa's which is a National Trust property as my dad and his partner are both members of. We ended up doing a guided tour which lasted an hour and half but I learnt so much about the different time periods of the people who lived here. I do love a bit of History.
Then on Sunday before my dad took me back home we went down to Bowood House and Gardens for a visit which is another estate and house not from from Swindon. Its incredible what is on your door step and you don't even know it. Was such another lovely day as well, they had a police dog show on as well which was interesting to watch how they train all the different service dogs.
On the Tuesday me, my sister, Liz and the kiddy winks went to Noah's Ark Zoo Farm in Bristol which is a massive Zoo which is run on a farm yard. I have to admit that this is defiantly better than Bristol Zoo by far so many more variety of Animals.
They have Lions, Tigers, Elephants, Giraffe, Rhinos, Monkeys ... I could go on its crazy good and so much additional stuff for the kids to do. We went on a tractor ride around the farm which was very bumpy and watched an animal show where at the end we fed the lambs.
Well so this is the bit where the title comes from, so on the Friday me and my best friend are taking a trip to London to visit the Audrey Hepburn; Portraits of an Icon Exhibition in the National Portrait Gallery.
We set of pretty early to make sure were in Bristol to catch our coach at 10:10 am which is going all fine and dandy until he says sorry its broken down meaning we have to wait an additional 20 minuets for the new coach to arrive ... ok cool that's fine we got plenty of time to get there for 14:30 pm.
We set off about 10:30 am and are on our merry way to London until we stop in stand still traffic at that moment I can deal with it we still have 3 hours to get to London it isn't until it dawns on that we aren't going to make it till 14:20 pm (I am going mad now haha) so i get my best friend to give them a call and all is good they don't mind us being late.
So we get to London at 14:10 pm and manage to make it to the exhibition at 14:50 pm which lucky enough they let us in. I am sweating it out at this moment with all the running around and being stuck on the underground.
The Exhibition its self was incredible we were lucky enough to get a walk around by Terrance Pepper who wrote the book alongside the exhibition. I made friends with him via Instagram and he was happy enough to come meet me to sign my book and have a chat. He is an incredible man and so generous I learnt so much more that day thanks to him.
It is a collection of photos of Audrey through out her life starting from a young child up to when she died in 1993. Some of the photos are incredible in which some of them have never been seen before.
After that we grabbed some food and did a bit of shopping before another travelling nightmare began!!!! Getting back to the train station should have take 5mins on the underground giving us time to grab some food, go to the toilet and walk back to the coach station.
Well that is how it should have gone but no the underground breaks down one stop before we need to get off (Face Palm Moment) this is at 6:25 pm got plenty of time to make it back it gets to 6:35 pm and I start to panic so we get off the underground and attempt to walk haha bad mistake so end up legging it back down to the underground just as the announcement says "This train is ready to leave" thank god we made it by this time were back at Victoria by 6:45 pm leaving us 15 minuets to run to the coach station making it to our coach with a minuet to spare!!!!
I have never had such a s stressful day travelling my life!!!!!!!!!!!!
So my week of was lovely and I managed to get up to lots of things :) Any one else been up to much?
Hope you all have a lovely weekend <3
