Waffles you say?

Anyone who knows me knows that I am an absolute foodie and I live for food!

Most of all I am a sucker for dessert and most recently last year I stumbled across a lovely little place in Bristol down Gloucester Road called "The Parlour" and it is a family run business which has been in its family since 1974 and I have to say they service some of the most amazing ice creams and waffles I have ever had!

Since stumbling across this place last year I have been back 2 more times with friends and my partner as I can't seem to stay away! What I love about this place is the big open windows making it very light accompanied by the very neutral colours.

I love the decor of the whole place with the mish mash of old wooden tables/chairs along with the booth seating as well. Its very calm and inviting and its great that its such a family friendly place.

On my first visit here which was back last year not very long after it had opened I got the most amazing Rocky Horror Waffles and I am a lover of Waffles and these were the best I have ever had. In the past I have been to a few other places that sell Waffles and sorry to say you know those really tacky places and nothing compares to the ice cream and waffles I have had here!

They put so much time and consideration in to making the presentation look great, I was so impressed and the rocky road ice cream it came served with was amazing! My partner had an Ice Cream sundae from the menu and he is quite funny about it being proper gelato ice cream and this didn't disappoint.

On my second visit at the start of this month I went here with my two best friends Samiee and Emma and as it was late the owner of the shop said we could try as many of the ice creams as we wanted after having a friendly conversation on they're Facebook page the night before.

They have such a massive variety of flavours which can change when ever you go there and we sampled Apple Pie, Salted Caramel, PB & J, Liquorice Fudge and Turkish Delight. After trying all these flavours I decided to create my sundae and went for the bubblegum/PB&J ice cream with haribo rhubarb and custard chews with blue sherbet dust!

AMAZING <3

Now if you think this is a weird concoction Samiee had Nutella waffles with Bubblegum ice cream and bubblegum sauce haha! Looked amazing though!

Naughty naughty I know going twice in one month but as I was down this way I had to just pop in for some waffles and this time I got these ones called Treat Yo Self which is salted caramel ice cream with brownies along with an extra scoop of chocolate orange ice cream as I couldn't say NO!

If your're ever in Bristol then I really recommend this place its such a great atmosphere, the staff are really friendly and its family friend. Every time I have visited they have never disappointed and they serve the best flavoured and imaginative ice cream imaginable.

Disney On Ice: Silver Anniversary

I cannot believe how quick Disney on Ice has come around, I can remember booking this only a few days after I went to see Disney on Ice in Birmingham for the Enchanted Adventures performance which was amazing!

I did take a fair bit of video but for some reason they won't upload which is a little bit annoying :(

So this time the show was to celebrate its Silver Anniversary and included the Lion King and Peter Pan along with Frozen and Little Mermaid from the previous show. Overall I wasn't as impressed as I was the last time I went.

Last time they did two short stories and one long story which is what they did this time but it felt more rushed and not as good.

The started the show with "Its a small world" which I love to hate, the section of the show was amazing and well thought out and very pretty.

After this we were greeted by the gang Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and this time Daisy joined us on stage before we set off in to the Lion King part of the show. In my eyes this was very short and rushed there wasn't much else going on on the stage apart from the few main characters it lacked imagination compared to the stories we had seen last time.

Now when they announced that Peter Pan was going to be part of this show I was over the moon and this section of the show was incredible they even included Nana which made me so happy and the flying to Neverland scene was amazing.

After the short interval we were take to see Ariel under the sea which we had already seen but they had changed it which was great so the costumes and scenery they used was different but once again this was shorter and very rushed it didn't really seem to flow.

Me and Samiee were dreading this bit of the show as we cannot stand Frozen at the moment with it being overrated but we still watched only to see that this had also been cut short and was missing all the additional on stage presences that was there the last time especially during "Summer time" sang by Olaf which was on of my favourite bits.

Overall the show was amazing as it is Disney but it felt more rushed than the last show and that they had cut lots of bits out from Frozen and Little Mermaid and the Lion King section could have done with being longer.

And just to finish off I went to the most amazing place called "My Cookie Dough" and they sell different flavoured Cookie Doughs with different sauces, spreads and come with ice cream or cream. The cookie dough is so warm and gooey its amazing, I had triple chocolate brownie <3 and I want to go back for more!!!

It was such an amazing day and cannot wait for the next one!

Review: April Tokyo Treat Box

Welcome to another review or shall we say unboxing of a Tokyo Treat Box this time it is the April Box which is actually they're special 1st Anniversary box.

In my last post I reviewed the March medium box which you can read here. I ended up getting the medium box because I didn't have a lot of money to order the premium box and to be honest I didn't this time around whoops! I have had to cancel my subscription for a few months as money is tight and I cannot afford the costs which is a shame because I really enjoyed these boxes but it also gives me time to see what other ones are out there and try one of those.

What made me upgrade to this box was because they are including two bonus items which I am dead excited for the first one being Sakura Pepsi (oh my!!!) and the second one being a limited edition Hello Kitty and Doraemon coin purse (ahhh!!!)

So lets crack on ...

Once again the box includes one of they're really nicely presented booklets which lists all the items with in the box, how to make the DIY kits and other little bits of information which are really interesting.

Items Received:
So just like last time I will write in "Italic" what the products are as mentioned in the little book provided above along with my own comments, pictures and rating out of 5 so here goes ...

Meiji's Pucca Chocolate (5/5)
These little crispy nuggets of browned biscuit are filled with the most delectable chocolate
There are another biscuit product filled with a creamy chocolate filling but what is different about these are they are crunchy and crisp on the outside and kind of taste like pretzels which make them even more delicious.

Crunchy Panda Z (4/5)
Z for the "ZaguZagu" or "CrunchCrunch" feeling you get when you eat a mouthful, these crunchy chocolate pandas are perfect for every day snacking
I have actually had these little Panda biscuits before but last time I tried the White and Milk chocolate mix and these were amazing so to get to try the Milk and Dark chocolate ones have been great. I'm not 100% sure which ones I prefer but they both tasted yummy. Its hard chocolate on a biscuit base.

Meiji's Plum Pati-Chan (2/5)
The yummy flavours of crisp plum, gives off a bitter and sweet vibe for these crunchy morsels. As you eat this snack you will begin to feel the bits crackling inside your mouth
These are essentially pop rocks but I have to say I couldn't stand the plum flavour it left a really horrible after taste but they did make a good crackling sound better than pop rocks I have had in the UK before.

Raw Ramune Candy (5/5)
Do you know Ramune? Its an extremely popular soda drink in Japan. This delicious candy is Ramune flavoured
I've had Ramune flavoured candy before but nothing like this texture before. These are like soft little cubes of raw Ramune which taste like Soda. I have never tried the drink before but I am off to Hyper Japan in July so hoping I can try some then.

Karamucho Hot Chili Flavoured Chips (5/5)
These tasty potato chips have a huge kick to them! Enjoy the peppery and zingy taste of hot chili, powdered on each chip
Now I was expecting these to be really spicy but I was pleasantly surprised to find them quite mild but amazingly tasty! They tasted like paprika? but they were amazing I love the little drawing on the packet.

Baby Star Yakisoba Sauce Flavour (4/5)
These tasty morsels are dried and baked yakisoba noodles
Where can I get more? These taste amazing! I can't think what they remind me of although my partner said bombay mix? I couldn't see it myself but these tasted great, the texture and crispyness is just right. I've never had Yakisoba noodles before so the taste was amazing.

Chocolate Flour and Green Tea Flavoured Mochi (0/5)
Delicious flour discs, in a do it yourself kit that allows you to flavour them anyway you like! Enjoy the rich combination of  chocolate paired with mochi green tea powder for an experience you'll enjoy by the mounds
Ok so from my last post I didn't really enjoy the DIY kit and its the same with this weeks. I followed the instructions and taste the Mochi with chocolate and green tea and I thought it was disgusting it tasted horrible so I decided to just eat the chocolate which was amazing.

Lotte's Koala March (Seasonal): Custard Pudding Flavour (4/5)
This Japanese sweet snack is famous for its crispy exterior and sweet filling. Indulge in crunchy vanilla biscuit nuggets filled with custard pudding flavour
I love these! Not only is the box cute but the actual biscuits themselves are adorable. I have had these before also but only the Chocolate and Strawberry flavours so getting to try a seasonal flavour is great and they taste amazing. These are little biscuits shaped like little Kola bears with a creamy custard pudding filling mmm!

Carrot Chopped Rice Cake (3/5)
These mini rice cakes are a yummy concoction of dried and baked perfection. Crunchy and authenticly made in the "arare" and prepared Japanese rice cakes that are lightly crunchy without too much extra flavours.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how cute the packaging is? I wasn't 100% sure on this product to begin with only due to the name as I was worried this was carrot flavoured rice cakes but actually it wasn't it was lightly seasoned little rice cake bits like someone had taken a rice cake and broke it in to small pieces. Its a light snack with not too much flavour but still yummy.

Wasabi Grilled Seaweed (5/5)
Basically what it says in the name ;)
Now I cannot stand Wasabi its really hot and it I don't have a very high tolerance for spicy food but this I was really worried about trying but I gave it ago and it was amazing. The crispy seaweed tastes amazing along with the subtle hint of Wasabi some sheets are more strong than others but still yummy.

Baby Star Bonito Kelp Udon
This delicious noodle meal is a cup ramen stayed dried dish, in the bonito flavour that we know and love. Enjoy the delicious udon noodles paired with the saltiness of seaweed and bonito flakes. Add boiling water and sit for 5 minuets.
I have yet to try this yet as I haven't really been in the mood but once I have given this a go I shall update you all.

Sakura Pepsi (Special Item) (10/5) ;)
The combination of Sakura Blossom cherries paired with the well known taste of Pepsi has made for a wonderful, limited edition beverage. Enjoy the soft fragrant and bubbly aroma and cherry taste that will leave you refreshed, and happy
OH MY!!!!!!! This drink is incredible and I am so gutted that its limited edition and only available in Japan because its something I have never tasted before and its quite hard to actually describe what it tastes like because Skaura is Cherry Blossom and some people said it tasted like Cherry but to me I don't think it does.

Doraemon or Hello Kitty Purses (Special Item) (5/5)
For the premium boxes this month we've included a very special item for your dedication to Tokyo Treat. Enjoy mini coin purses with lovely designs of Hello Kitty or Doraemon. These cute little purses are an awesome collectors item.
When Tokyo Treat announced that this was going to be one of the special items in they're anniversary box I was over the moon! I am a massive Hello Kitty fan and I couldn't wait to see what one was included in my box. As  I am not a massive Doraemon fan I was worrying that I might get a full Doraemon purse rather than a mixed or a Hello Kitty one so I am so pleased that I got Hello Kitty but also that I got this design its so Kawaii!

Chocolate Monaca (3.5/5)
This traditional candy bar of Japan called the "Monaca" is something we can all enjoy. Relish in these large bars of crispy and airy vanilla biscuit with a dry puffed chocolate filling on the inside.
This is essentially a wafer bar with a hard chocolate filling which tasted amazing! The wafer tasted like an ice cream cone and went very well with the rich creamy chocolate.

Calbee BBQ Flavoured Sapporo Potato Snacks (2/5)
These tangy barbecue potato snacks are timeless and delectable.
Enjoy the bold flavours paired with a waffle-cut potato chip, that has the right amount of seasoning and crunch. Sapporo potatoes are a favourite among the Japanese.
These were pretty bland to be honest there wasn't much BBQ flavour to them if any at all but the texture and design of the crisp were yummy.

Overall I am really impressed with this box, there was such a great variety of snacks and candy and it isn't heavy on just one product. I am gutted that I have had to cancel my subscription but I will defo have to look at getting another in the future.

Thanks for reading. I purchased with my own money and I was NOT paid to review this by Tokyo Treats.

Disneyland Paris: This or That Tag

Yipiee another tag another tag and its all about my favourite place in the world DISNEYLAND PARIS!!! So this is another tag that I stumbled across whilst looking through Disney blogs on a lovely blog called Beneath the Clock Tower which you can view here.

So the aim of the tag is as simple as it sounds you pick This or you pick That. As I've only been to Disneyland Paris twice at the moment there a few things where I'll just have to pick the option I've done which is fine hehe. But I am currently planning a trip for my 25th Birthday next year and I'm
dead excited.

Disneyland Park or Walt Disney Studios?
It has to be the Disneyland Park without question nothing beats walking down Main Street USA past all the beautiful shops and then staring up at the castle at the end its just so magical!

It's A Small World or Peter Pan's Flight?
Peter Pan's Flight all the way for sure, don't get me wrong I love It's A Small World but only once per visit purely because the music gets stuck in your head all day and actually as I type this now I am already singing it haha. What I love about Peter Pan's Flight is the music and how cue everything is!

Hotel Cheyenne or Hotel Santa Fe?
So I have only ever stayed in Santa Fe and I have to be honest it is a lovely for a budget hotel but I feel it could do with an upgrade. My room that I stayed in felt very old and the extractor fan made a hell of a noise and kept me up the first 2 nights of our stay. When I go next year I will be staying in Cheyenne and with the upgrade it looks amazing!!!

Cable Car Bake Shop or Market House Deli?
If you have read my previous blogs you will know how much I love the "Mum's Chocolate Cake" from the Cable Car Bake Shop along with a yummy hot chocolate!

Crush's Coaster or RC Racer?
Now this is a really tough one for me because I LOVE them both equally but If I had to choose one of these to ride twice it would have to be Crush Coaster!

Disney's Halloween Festival or Disney's Christmas Season?
Out of the two I have only had the chance to visit during Christmas and it was such a bargain as well! Disney is magical but there is just something about Disney at Christmas that makes it a 100 times more magical and I feel in love but I would like to go back for Halloween and Swing in to Spring.

Star Tours or Buzz Lightyear Lazer Blast?
So even though I am not a massive Star Wars fan I did really enjoy Star Tours but I have to choose Lazer Blast because its so much fun and a great laugh to try and beat your friend, family or partner especially when it breaks down and you can just sit and look at the amazing set.

Animagique or Cinemagique?
I have only ever seen Cinemagique and it was amazing very well done and but together but I am more annoyed now that I'll never have the chance to see Animagique as its now closed making way for a new show ;(

Le Carrousel de Lancelot or Le Pays de Contes de Fees?
I haven't yet had the chance to go on Le Pays de Contes de Fees (story boat ride in Fantasyland) because every time I have been its been shut but on my next trip this is a must! But I do love Le Carrousel de Lancelot as it reminds me Walt Disney.

Flying Carpets or Orbiton?
Hmm they're both really similar but I would have to choose Flying Carpets as its based on Aladdin

Sequoia Lodge or Newport Bay Club?
I've never stayed in either but I would choose Sequoia Lodge because its themed around the forest and log cabins. It looks very cosy and warm.

Mad Hatters Tea Cups or Dumbo Flying Elephants?
Mad Hatters Tea Cups for the win!!!

Pizzeria Bella Notte or Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost?
Never eaten at either of these although I've heard that Pizzeria Bella Notte is amazing especially the lasagne there.

Swing in to Spring or Frozen Summer Fun?
I haven't had the chance to visit these yet but I would have to say Swing in to Spring as I think Frozen is soooo overrated!!

Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains or Les Voyages de Pinocchio?
I love both of these movies! But I think I'll have to pick Pinocchio as I like all the little sets as you around on the train.

Alice's Curious Labyrinth or La Cabane Des Robinsons?
I am a massive Alice fan and this maze is so much fun full of crazy and wonderful things from the movie where as La Cabane Des Robinsons is a bit boring although you can get some great views of the park from there.

Liberty Arcade or Discovery Arcade?
Tbh they're both very similar but If I have to choose one it would be Liberty Arcade

Fantasyland or Frontierland?
Fantasyland!!!! Its the home of the Princesses!

Pirates of the Caribbean or Phantom Manor?
Pirates of the Caribbean I love the movies so much and this ride is amazing, I cannot wait to see what changes when they close it for a refurbishment this year which I know brings Captain Jack in to the ride.

Cowboy Cookout Barbecue or Au Chalet de la Marionnette?
Haven't eaten at either of these

Space Mountain or Hollywood Tower of Terror?
Sorry I refuse to choose one on this question ;) these are my two favourite rides within the whole place!!!

Big Thunder Mountain or Indiana Jones Et Le Temple Du Peril?
Well as I haven't been on Big Thunder Mountain as its always been closed it has to be Indiana Jones. On my first trip to Disney this was closed so when I went last year I made sure I rode this a few times and its amazing!

Inventions or Auberge de Cendrillon?
I haven't done either of these but I am planning to spend my lunch on my 25th Birthday next year in Auberge de Cendrillon with the princesses hoping to meet Punzie and Belle.

Disney Fashion or The Disney Gallery?
I love these stores equally and will probably buy anything thing in either as a lot of the stuff is very expensive but If I had money it would be The Disney Gallery as the Art Work in there is just incredible.

Discoveryland or Adventureland?
Discoveryland! Home to Space Mountain ;)

Cafe Hyperion or The Lucky Nugget?
Haven't eaten at either of these

La Galerie de la Belle au Bois Dormant or La Taniere du Dragon?
I am not a massive fan of Sleeping Beauty but if I had to chose one of the two it has to be the Dragon because it is awesome!!!!

Annette's Diner or Planet Hollywood?
Toughie this one as I've eaten at both and enjoyed both meals but I am a massive burger lover so I have to pick Annette's as they do amazing food and the whole atmosphere is amazing.

So what would you choose? This or That?
Hope you all have a lovely weekend! Immy xoxox
