Top Movies of 2017

A little bit later than usual but not forgotten that's for sure as this is one of my favourite posts to write each year. Choosing this years movies was actually very difficult with so many amazing ones gracing our screen, hence why my usual ten has turned in to eleven for this year.

One thing I am going to say is that so many of these movies this year had such incredible soundtracks that I haven't stopped listening to since seeing the movie. In no particular order here we go ...

La La Land
Now I'm not a massive lover of musicals I will tell you that now and which might shock some people I cannot stand Mamma Mia or Hair Spray but there are some I absolutely love and La La Land was one of them. I have to admit I didn't know it was actually a musical I had just seen how many awards it was up for and all the good reviews and decided to go and luckily I loved it otherwise it could have been a long few hours.

From the moment the first song started I just knew it was a film I was going to love. The on screen chemistry from Emma and Ryan was perfect making the movie enjoyable along with the story, settings and soundtrack making me fall in love.

The Greatest Showman
The moment I saw the trailer for this movie I had to go and see it without a doubt the trailer its self looked incredible alone and another movie that from the moment it began I fell in love and instantly knew I needed to see it again.

The casting was spot on throughout and especially with Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron both two beautiful men. The soundtrack to this movie is another incredible one which I haven't stopped listening to since I saw it in the cinema. The movie was so upbeat and incredible done.

Girls Trip
I didn't actually see Girls Trip in the cinema as I had no one to go with and I wasn't sure if it was going to be a lot like bridesmaids but a friend of mine lent me the DVD over Christmas and I have to admit I haven't laughed that much in agessss and I mean proper tears running down my face laughter.

What a brilliant movie with hilarious stupid moments which I could totally see happening on many girls trip and I look forward to seeing it again.

Baby Driver
Another movie with another incredible soundtrack and anyone who has seen this movie will totally agree that the music just fits in so well with each scene. Such an amazing cast as well for the film with the main character called Baby being played by Ansel Elgort who is one of my favourites along with Lily James another actress I adore. The movie is about Baby who is a get away drive who relies on the sound of music to be the best around and that he is!

Beauty and The Beast - Live Action
Ever since the announcement of this movie I had been so excited for it to be released especially when then they went and announced the cast and shown a preview trailer. Even though some people weren't happy with Emma Watson playing Belle I couldn't have been more happier with being a Harry Potter lover as well as Dan Stevens playing the beast.

I actually went to see this movie 3 times in the cinema thats how much I loved the movie, everything about it was perfect the attention to detail and also another amazing soundtrack. My favourite song from the original movie was Be Our Guest and it was done so well I loved it.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle
First thing I'm going to say is why did they have to kill his pug :( yes I know his girlfriend then goes and gets him the most adorable new little pug but come on whyyyyyy! Anyways now we are past that extremely sad moment the rest of the movie was amazing, I loved that there is another spy organisation in the United States which Channing Tatum was part of and especially how the movie ended meaning there must be a 3rd one coming at some point.

The Lego Batman Movie
With The Lego movie being such a huge success, when this was announced I just knew it was going to be an amazing movie. Yes its meant to be for kids but this movie has so many adult references and funny scenes that makes it great for all ages.

Hidden Figures
I knew from the trailer I had to see this movie with there being such a great cast chosen to re tell this incredible story of the 3 ladies that helped with the space launch.

Guardians of The Galaxy: Vol 2
As soon as the first movie finished at the cinema I just wanted there to be a second film so bad and when he flipped over that tap and it said Vol 2 on the other side we just knew it was coming. It was worth the wait for such an amazing movie and cast which has you laughing throughout even though there are some sad scenes its an incredible movie with another amazing soundtrack!

Spiderman: Homecoming
How many Spiderman movies do we need? Lots apparently but this one is by far the best one yet, I love that we got to meet our new Spiderman during the most recent Captain America movie and since that point on I was very excited for this movie as Tom Holland was such a good choice.

There is something about this movie that just feels different to the rest of them. Its fresh, funny and not like the usual movies that were released before this one. I can't wait for more.

Paddington 2
Who doesn't love Paddington? The first movie was so good and such a cute movie that when they announced the second I was so excited. These movies are just such good feel films and are perfect for any age young or old. I do have to admit I did shed a tear during this movie as it got a little sad in some places and plus he's just so cute.

There are still so many movies that I loved in 2017 and that didn't make it in to my Top 10 list but this year these are some of my favourites, What movies have you seen this year that you really enjoyed?

I actually think 2018 is going to be my hardest post for movies with Disney having an incredible line up this year so we will have to see with Coco already making it on to the list and the year hasn't even  really began yet.

Update: Top Ten Disney Movies

So I feel that it's time for an update on my top ten Disney movies, my original post was posted way back in November 2014 which you can read here and happens to be one of my most viewed posts. Last time I actually didn't include any Pixar movies so this time around there will be a couple on my list!

So like last time here is a list of all my favourite movies before I narrow them down to my top ten and if you compare my original post to this one you will notice some have stayed and some have moved out of the top ten as new movies are released.

Snow White, Pinocchio, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Lady and The Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, Aristocats, Robin Hood, The Rescuers, The Great Mouse Detective, Oliver and Company, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas, Toy Story, Pocahontas 2, A Bugs Life, Toy Story 2, The Emperors New Groove, Lady and the Tramp 2, Monsters Inc, Cinderella 2, Mulan, Mulan 2, Ratatouille, Bolt, Tangled, The Princess and the Frog, Toy Story 3, Monsters University, Big Hero 6, Coco, Moana, Zootopia, Inside Out, Wreck It Ralph, Nightmare Before Christmas and Finding Dory.

1. Pocahontas
2. Coco
3. Zootopia
4. Tangled
5. Robin Hood
6. Ratatoullie
7. Mulan
8. The Emperors New Groove
9. Cinderella
10. Moana

As you can see taking a look at my new list movies have defiantly come and gone from my list and that’s not because I don’t like them anymore it’s just what I’ve been watching recently had changed. Like my massive love for Mulan at the moment where I could watch it every day if I could and Emperors New Groove has always been a favourite of mine but recently after watching it with my partner we keep doing little bits from the movie and it’s just funny meaning it’s crept up on to the top 10. Who knows where things my stand in another 4 years time we will have to see!

Which are your favourites?

Beauty And The Beast Live Action: Can I go see it again?

I have yet to write down my thoughts and feelings about the new Beauty and the Beast Live Action movie that was finally released on the 17th March after two very long years of waiting. I enjoyed it that much that I actually went to see it twice within the space of 4 days and I could easily go and watch it again.

As I'm not very good at writing reviews yet I thought I would just post my thoughts and feelings I had during and after the movie but just to warn you this will contain spoilers so please read at your own risk hehe.

The Cast? How perfect the cast were. I never doubted they're cast choices when they were announcing who was playing who they made the most perfect decision.

Emma Watson as Belle was just perfect they couldn't have picked a better actress if they tried even though some people weren't happy Emma I thought she played the part amazingly.

When ever Belle sings the reprise of Belle I just can't help but laugh at how much it looks like the Sound of Music!

Why does she have her skirt tucked in to her knickers half the time? but the other half she doesn't?

The relationship between Gaston and Le Fou! Was just perfect I don't get what people were complaining about? Its a modern day movie!

I'm probably the only one that actually didn't think Dan Steven looked all that when he transformed from the Beast. I actually preferred him as the Beast haha.

Be Our Guest was everything I wanted it to be, its the one scene I've been waiting for since the movie was announced it brings back so many feels for me and memories of my trips to Disneyland Paris and watching Disney Dreams for the first time.

The scene when they all were saying goodbye at the end had be balling my eyes out.

Luke Evans was the perfect fit for Gaston he has me laughing throughout the whole movie.

The song Gaston was another one of my favourite songs and scenes.

I love that we find out what happened to Belle's mother even though it was so heart breaking.

Belle and Beast's on screen relationship was perfect and felt so much more real than in the animation. In the animation it was very rushed compared to in the live action where I felt like we watched it blossom more.

The costumes and set designs were incredible. All of Emma's out fits looked perfect and the design of the Castle was so magical along with the designs for all the cast like Cogsworth and Lumiere,

I have to say I actually prefer the live action to the animation. They have captured everything in the most amazing ways and brought the animation to life.

It was everything I wanted it to be and so much more I just cannot get over how perfect it was!

I am toying with the idea of going a 3rd time I just cannot wait for the DVD release to come out so I can watch it over and over again.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them!

When can I go and see this again? Because honestly I don't think I can wait for the DVD or Blu Ray to come out which currently doesn't have a release date on Amazon (yes I have looked hehe) at the moment.

Before going to see the movie I asked for the book of the script along with some other items for Christmas as with being a Harry Potter lover and reading the text book of this I just had to see the movie. And I wasn't disappointed at all I fell in love instantly with Newt played by the lovely Eddie Redmayne who I have watched in numerous movies before which was another reason why I had to go and see this movie.

I'm not going to spoil anything here because I want everyone to experience it for themselves and me myself avoided anything other than trailers before seeing the movie on Sunday. What is great about the movie is that nobody knows what is going to happen because the book it relates which is written by Newt is just a textbook rather than a book so the only thing you do recognise is the creatures from which he has written about. That is why I am so happy that JK didn't release the script before the movie came out.

The story in this movie is brilliant full of such amazing characters and creatures which I really hope do stick around for the next films or at lease make appearances because I fell in love with them. Now Harry Potter is over I feel like I have something else to obsess about for the next few years and I can just feel like I am already! Seriously can the next one just come out already ;)

Have you seen it yet? What do you think?

1. Any unseen films?
Nope I have seen all of these movies

2. What is your favourite film of the era?
Now this is a super tough question because before Zootopia popped up in this Era it would have been a tie between Tangled as she is my 2nd favourite Princess and Big Hero 6 but it has to be Zootopia its a great story with great meaning and life lessons!

3. What is your least favourite film of the era?

8. What do you consider to be the most underrated film of the era?
It has to be Wreck It Ralph, its just such an amazing movie and it just doesn't get as much recognition as it should do.

9. What is your favourite thing about this era?
That basically some of my favourite movies are in this era, There is a variety of movies that have been released with some great new Princess ones all with catchy songs and great stories!

10. What did you least enjoy about this era?
Nothing so far in this era, probably one of my favourites.

Disney Pre Day Trip Movie Marathon

With only a week to go until I am in Disneyland Paris again it is only fitting that on the run up Disney movies are watched as you might recall when I went on my holiday last December I did something like this before which you can read here.

As this is only a day trip I thought instead of doing a whole month of movies I would pick 6 Disney/Pixar movies and watch one an evening before I go. Now I say 6 because I won't be able to watch a movie on the Friday evening we go because I don't get home till 5pm and then I have to get ready and do some washing before we leave around 8:30pm.

So these are my 6 movies;

Saturday 10th September:
Good Dinosaur

Sunday 11th September:
Inside Out

Monday 12th September:
Tangled

Tuesday 13th September:
Zootopia

Wednesday 14th September:
Snow White

Thursday 15th September:
Jungle Book - Live Action
(Purchasing with birthday money on the 13th)

Most of my movie choices apart from 2 of them are ones I haven't actually watched since they were out in the Cinema or I have only watched once since the DVD release. Snow White is on there because when I went to watch it during my last marathon I found out my DVD was broken so it had to be replaced.

Only a week to go and I'm back home!

Disney: The Post Renaissance Era

I do love a good Disney tag especially when its another Disney Era one by Amy over at Scariels Grotto. This time it is the post renaissance era, this comes with similar disappointment which was found with the movies in the bronze/dark era.

Nope I've seen them all!

2. What is your favourite film of the era?
It has to be Bolt closely followed by Emperor's New Groove

3. What is your least favourite film of the era?
Meet the Robinson's I only watched this for the first time last year and I know why I didn't rush to see it as it was just really random and weird.

4. Who is your favourite main character?
Bolt
5. Who is your favourite villain?
It has to be Yzma haha shes just stupidly brilliant

6. Who is your favourite sidekick?

7. What is your favourite song?
The Brother Bear Sound Track

8. What do you consider to be the most underrated film of the era?

The Disney Happiness Tag

Now I love a good tag as much as the next person and I stumbled across this version of the Happiness Tag over on Lucy's blog which you can visit here. I love Lucy's blog and when she posted this version I had to do it myself but added an extra category to mine. I probably will complete the normal version as well at some point.

Captain America: Civil War and Jungle Book Live Action

I love going to the cinema even though it is expensive when there isn't an offer on but there is something about watching movies for the first time on the big screen. I rarely go to the cinema usually probably once/twice a month so then to go two evenings in a row is great especially seeing
two amazing movies!

Captain America: Civil War

Can I please go and see this again? This is how much I really enjoyed this movie!

I have been waiting for this film since the 2nd Avengers came out only last year in fact when at the end we got to meet the new Avengers who I love especially Scarlett Witch!

And before you ask I am #TeamCap although I do love Iron Man as he was the first Marvel movie I watched in fact but there is something about the Captain America movies I just love (yes Chris Evans being extremely hot being one of the factors).

I don't plan on giving too much away as I know some of you may not have seen the movie yet but I have to say this is actually one of my favourite Marvel movies at the moment as per usual it was full of whit and humour along with the classic fighting scenes. However much I say I'm #TeamCap actually watching Ironman and him fight makes me really sad.

They have brought together such a range of superheroes all in one movie and it just works really well with the introduction of Black Pantha and the new Spiderman. If I am honest when Peter Parker was introduced in to the movie I wasn't 100% sure what I thought and If I was going to like him but as we went through the movie and in to the big fight scene his character was amazing and so funny much different to the spidermans we have seen before and I really really liked this!

And as for Antman he was just brilliant another movie that I really love and another character that added to the film Paul Rudd is just hilarious I couldn't stop laughing from the moment he comes on the screen!

Overall I think this movie is great and definitely lived up to expectations and I cannot wait to see this again! I shall leave you with this ;) "Tony Stank" haha!

Jungle Book Live Action

OK so I am going to be completely honest here I was so excited to see this movie when I first heard they were doing Jungle Book as a Live Action and when I saw the promo posters I was screaming like a school girl! But when I then saw a trailer I wasn't 100% sure If I was going to like it :(

BUT I was wrong it was amazing! The CGI was incredible along with all the special effects, the voice overs and the characters speaking was the bit that I was most worried about but they did such an amazing job.

Neel Sethi as Mowgli was perfect the boy has such character and brought the movie to life. It must have been so hard to act for this movie and he did the most incredible job and deserves an award for his acting.

What I love about this movie is that its based more on the book rather than the Disney Jungle Book animation and I cannot wait to see it again. Its such a happy go lucky movie with lots of character and amazing animal companions you feel you can relate to! I love Baloo!!!!

Cannot wait for Alice in Wonderland, Finding Dory and The Secret Life of Pets coming out soon!

Top Ten Disney Easter Eggs

Who doesn't love a good Disney Easter Egg? After mentioning about the one hidden in Disney's new movie Zootopia in my last post it gave me an idea to write a post on my top ten hidden Easter eggs.

Now if you don't have a clue what I'm on about then shame on you ;) just kidding! Basically a Disney Easter Egg is where they hide something in their movies that reference another movie or someone or sometimes this can be hints of whats to come that you often won't even notice until they have released the movie somewhere down the line.

Here's an example: Little Mermaid
Mickey, Goofy and Donald can be seen in the crowd during King Triton's entrance

So here's my Top Ten:
101 Dalmatians
Lady and Tramp make a quick cameo during the twilight bark

Zootopia
When Duke Weaselton is caught selling Disney knock offs

Oliver and Company
Jock, Peg and Trusty from Lady and The Tramp make a  quick cameo

Monsters Inc
When Boo found Nemo and the Toy Story Ball

Tangled
When Rapunzel and Flynn read in the library 3 classic Disney movies appear in book form;
1. The Little Mermaid
2. Beauty and the Beast
3. Sleeping Beauty

Frozen
Rapunzel and Flynn are seen at Elsa's coronation

Tarzan
Mrs Potts and Chip are in Porter's Camp

Basil the Great Mouse Detective
When Dumbo shows up as a bubble toy in the toy shop

Hercules
Scar is the slain Nemean Lion

Aladdin
The Beast appears as one of the Sultan's toys

There are so many to choose from even picking some of my Top Ten was difficult! What are some of yours?

March 25th 2016: Birmingham - The Vamps

Before anyone makes any judgement on me for liking The Vamps haha this is my guilty little pleasure like for most of you who like One Direction is ;) just wanted to put that out there hehe!

As I've mentioned in a few previous posts that I was going to see The Vamps Wake Up Tour in Birmingham on the 25th March with my best friend Samiee who also loves The Vamps. This flew around considering we booked this back in October 2014!

We travelled up to Birmingham on the Friday afternoon via train and checked in to our hotel around 3 pm giving us plenty of time to go shopping and grab some food before the show started. We were quite lucky actually that our hotel was by one of the main entrances to the station making it easy for us to leave the following morning.

When we got there we checked in and headed straight for Primark which was next door to our hotel luckily ;) I was highly surprised that I didn't end up spending as much money as I thought I would considering how much I picked up and tried on and ended up hating everything apart from one top.

With being Disney lovers the Disney Store was next on our list considering we no longer have one in Bristol anymore which is really annoying. As soon as we got in there were made a B line straight for the Tsum Tsum's and mugs obviously we both ended up buying some and spending more than we bargained.

I also picked up the Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 as I missed this in the cinema and it was part of a 2 for £20 deal.

Now when ever me and Samiee do something together its like a ritual that if there is an Ed's Diner then we will eat in an Ed's Diner regardless as we love this place and luckily our partners don't think much of it!

This time I had a simple Bacon and Cheese burger with a side of chilly cheese fries which were AMAZING! I have had the bacon cheese fries before and even those were amazing. To drink we always have a Nutella shake!

When we finally made our way over to the arena it was about 7:00pm as we decided we didn't really want to get there that early because for some reason they had 4 support acts and the first one was on at 6:30pm and The Vamps weren't on until 9pm so heck were we waiting around for 2 plus hours to see them.

This is the 3rd time we have been to see them live now and don't get me wrong they were as amazing as always but I felt that the 2nd time we saw them in Birmingham was the best we also accidentally missed the last song as they went off stage and didn't come back on for AGES so we thought it had ended whoops!

I really loved it when they sand Kung Fu Fighting and they included scenes from the new Kung Fu Panda movie which I went to see a few weeks ago. My favorite bit of any Vamps show is when Tris comes out and does an amazing Drum solo at one point during the show I thought they weren't going to do it but they did!

It was really nice to spend the night away with Samiee as we haven't done it in a while as we used to stay away for events quite a lot so was nice to get away to somewhere different and grab some food and do some shopping even if its ended up me being POOR!

Next up we have Disney On Ice in Cardiff on the 23rd April which I'm dead excited about!!
